I grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, where my first business was a computer and a printer my mother bought me in high school. I printed homework for neighbors and made copies for classmates, and I learned early that technology is only useful when it solves a real problem for a real person.
After studying foreign trade at Universidad Simón Bolívar, I worked in travel insurance across Latin America: first as an intern in Panama, then as a sales executive in Caracas, training travel agencies on our software and representing the company at international conventions. In 2019 I moved to the United States, learned English at my local community college, and worked merchandising, production, and retail jobs while I planned my way into tech.
In 2023 I joined Year Up’s application development track, landed an application development internship at SamTrans, and started computer science classes at Diablo Valley College, where I graduated with a 3.95 GPA. Today I’m finishing a B.S. in Software Engineering at San José State University and working as a software engineering intern at San Francisco International Airport, building the data pipelines and dashboards the Cybersecurity team relies on every day.
Outside of work I’ve spent years volunteering: more than four years as a camp counselor in Venezuela, and more recently with an outreach committee in Benicia preparing food bags for unhoused neighbors. I like building things that make someone’s day a little easier.
